Student accommodation for you and your mates

Salford has really come into its own in recent years. Once mostly known for its industrial roots, it’s now a creative and cultural hub with places like MediaCity, The Lowry, and cool independent spots popping up all over. It still keeps that gritty charm, but mixes it with a fresh, modern vibe that makes it feel exciting and full of potential.

Salford student housing is usually way more affordable than living right in the heart of Manchester. Plus, you’ll be vibing with the cheapest public transport in the UK, loads of social stuff going on, and honestly, more food options than you’ll know what to do with, both for cooking and eating out. Since Salford’s got its own uni (shoutout University of Salford), most local students go there, but loads also commute easily to UoM and MMU, it’s actually closer than Withington.

Salford’s got loads going on, but it’s also a solid spot to look after your health and wellbeing. You’ve got five main parks — like Buile Hill, Peel Park, and Albert Park, so there’s plenty of green space to chill, go for a walk, or get your steps in. If the gym’s more your thing, there are a bunch to choose from too: PureGym, JD Gyms, Clarendon Leisure Centre, and the Sports Centre, which even has a 25m pool if you’re into swimming.

Salford’s food and drink game is seriously on point, just as good as anywhere in Manchester. Whether you’re into street food, cute cafés, or proper sit down meals, there’s something for everyone. Salford Quays is a go to for vibes and good eats, but honestly, there are gems all over the area.

Some faves include Karahi Wok for banging Indian street food, Vero Moderno and Lugana if you're craving Italian, Siena for Mediterranean vibes, Las Iguanas for those Mexican Brazilian flavours, and Turtle Bay if you're feeling Caribbean.

For your everyday food shop, Salford’s got literally every supermarket you could need Morrisons, Tesco, Asda, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, M&S, Co op… the whole lineup.
